Lord Jesus, Who hast deigned to open by Thy special love the unutterable goodness and riches of Thy Heart to Thy Bride, the Church: grant to us, Thy servants, that we may merit to be enriched and refreshed by Thy heavenly graces, flowing from this sweetest of fountains.

Surgens autem de synagoga introivit in domum Simonis. Socrus autem Simonis tenebatur magnis febribus: et rogaverunt illum pro ea. Et stans super illam imperavit febri: et dimisit illam. Et continuo surgens ministrabat illis.  Cum sol autem occidisset, omnes qui habebant infirmos variis languoribus ducebant illos ad eum.  At ille singulis manus inponens curabat eos. Exiebant autem etiam daemonia a multis, clamantia et dicentia quia: Tu es Filius Dei.  Et increpans non sinebat ea loqui; quia sciebant ipsum esse Christum.

 

Facta autem die, egressus ibat in desertum locum: et turbae requirebant eum et venerunt usque ad ipsum. Et detinebant illum ne discederet ab eis.

 

 Quibus ille ait quia:  Et aliis civitatibus oportet me evangelizare regnum Dei: quia ideo missus sum. Et erat praedicans in synagogis Galilaeae

 

And Jesus rising up out of the synagogue, went into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever: and they besought him for her. And standing over her, he commanded the fever: and it left her. And immediately rising, she ministered to them.  And when the sun was down, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them to him. But he, laying his hands on every one of them, healed them.  And devils went out from many, crying out and saying: Thou art the son of God. And rebuking them he suffered them not to speak; for they knew that he was Christ.

And when it was day, going out he went into a desert place: and the multitudes sought him, and came unto him. And they stayed him that should not depart from them.

O DULCISSIME JESU, qui in hunc mundum venisti, ut omnes animas vita ditares gratiæ tuæ, ad quam in illis servandam simulque fovendam in augustissimo Eucharistiæ Sacramento salutare pharmacum earum infirmitatibus sanandis, et cibum divinum debilitati sustinendæ temetipsum quotidie præbes, te supplices deprecamur, ut super eas sanctum tuum spiritum benignus effundas; quo repletæ, lethali labe si quae sint inquinatæ ad te revertentes, vitam gratiæ deperditam recuperent; quæ vero, te misericorditer largiente, jam tibi adhærent, quotidie, prout cui dabitur, ad tuam coelestem dapem devote accedant, qua roboratæ, venialium culparum a se quotidie admissarum antidotum sibi comparare, vitamque gratiæ tuæ alere valeant, sicque magis magisque emundatæ, sempiternam in coelis beatitudinem consequantur.

O SWEETEST JESUS, who came into this world to enrich the souls of all with thy grace, and who, in order to preserve and increase it in them, didst in the most august Sacrament of the Eucharist, give Thyself to be a salutary remedy for our infirmities and divine food to sustain our weakness; we humbly beg of Thee mercifully to pour out upon all men Tthy HOLY SPIRIT, which may enable them, if stained with any mortal guilt, to recover the life of grace lost by sin, and return to Thee; while those who through Thy great mercy are still united with Thee may daily, so far as each may be able, approach Thy heavenly table, where they may find strength, and an antidote for their daily faults, may nourish the life of grace within them, and, being more and more purified, may attain to everlasting happiness in Heaven.

O SACRUM convivium, in quo Christus sumitur: recolitur memoria passionis eius; mens impletur gratia et futurae gloriae nobis pignus datur.

O SACRED banquet, in which Christ is received, the memory of His Passion is renewed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory given to us.

V. Panem de caelo praestitisti eis;

R. Omne delectamentum in se habentem.

V. Thou didst give them bread from heaven;

R. Containing in itself all sweetness.

Oremus; Deus, qui nobis sub Sacramento mirabili Passionis tuae memoriam reliquisti; tribue, quaesumus, ita nos Corporis et Sanguinis tui sacra mysteria venerari, ut redemptionis tuae fructum in nobis iugiter sentiamus: Qui vivis et regnas in saecula saeculorum. Amen.

Let us pray; O God, who under a wonderful Sacrament hast left us a memorial of Thy Passion; grant us, we beseech Thee, so to reverence the sacred mysteries of Thy Body and Blood, that we may ever feel within ourselves the fruit of Thy Redemption: Thou who livest and reignest forever and ever. Amen.

Tempore paschali sequens dicitur oratio: In Paschaltide the following is said:

Oremus; Spiritum nobis, Domine tuae caritatis infunde, ut, quos Sacramentis paschalibus satiasti, tua facias pietate concordes. Per Dominum nostrum Iesum Christum Filium tuum, qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitate eiusdem Spiritus Sancti Deus per omnia saecula saeculorum. Amen.

Let us pray; Pour upon us, O Lord, the Spirit of Thy love, to make us of one heart, whom, by Thy tender mercy, Thou hast filled with the paschal sacrament. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who with Thee liveth and reigneth in the unity of the same Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
